Shoes start clean, and so do attitudes. Everyone was excited in Los Angeles:
After our 15-hour plane ride with some intensely awesome screen time, and arrival in Hong Kong at midnight bellingham time (4pm Hong Kong) Mia’s report:
Mia: aaaarrggggghhh and blllleeeah
Porter: “whoa this is scary,” and “OMG, we are going on a four month trip to Southeast Asia. This is crazy, this is scary.”
Mia and Poe next to a display in Hong Kong airport.
Once we settled in, we had the “best Chinese dinner ever.” Which was good since we were in china and it cost about $100 for a shared set of appetizers.
Next stop, Bali!
Love your coy pants!!

Hi! This is a little odd… your blog post showed up in my inbox, even though I don’t know how I got signed up to follow the blog. However it is very interesting… because we live in Seattle, and our family of 5 just spent 2 months last summer in Asia and went to some of the same places on your itinerary. 🙂 If you don’t mind a stranger stalking you, I’d follow your amazing trip. Ours was incredible and life changing to say the least. Have a blast!

Not sure how we sent you an invite, but we’d love to have you follow our adventure! We are in Bali today – a mix of sun and heavy rain. Kids are feeling the same. This is a big endeavor!

So cool that your daughter is blogging. I also tried to keep a blog, but didn’t post as much as planned. Walking in a big rain storm looking for a restaurant in Tokyo was one of the most memorable nights of our trip. 🙂

Yeah I think the most memorable moments might come from unexpected moments, huh? I was puzzling how we might be connected – do you know McKenna O’Keefe in bellingham? She is a student of mine who recommended I check out a seattle blog of a family who traveled to SE Asia. Wondering if that is you?

Okay I am seriously late on responding. Never saw this. I don’t know McKenna, but I do have couple friends in Bellingham. Either way I’m glad I came across your blog!

Yeah, Hong Kong hotel prices. We heard it was a 30 minute train into the city, $30 tickets. Sooo, hotel dinner it was.
